Review and restore changes

Review changes made to the Ontology globally

To review changes made made to the Ontology globally:

  1. In the top right of the application header, there is a History button that highlights the number of changes you have made to the Ontology that have not yet been saved.
  2. Selecting the History button will open up an Edits history dialog. The top of the dialog highlights the unsaved changes you have made, followed by a list of all Ontology changes with details on when the changes were made and by whom.

By default, changes are collapsed. You can select the down arrow (down arrow) for any change to view details on the change.

Filter changes made to the Ontology globally

In the Edits history dialog you have the option to hide changes you cannot see. These changes will exist if changes have been made to object types and link types in the Ontology to which you do not have access. In these cases, you will see that changes have been made to the Ontology, but no details of those changes.

Hide items you cannot see

Each entry in the edits history corresponds to a single instance of a user saving changes. You also have the option to consolidate the view by merging changes that have been made by the same author into a single entry.

Review changes made to a single Ontology resource

At the bottom left of an Ontology resource’s view, there is a button stating when the object type, link type, or action type was last edited and by whom.

Last edited button

Selecting this button will open up an Edits history dialog for that specific resource. This dialog displays:

  • Highlighted at the top: The unsaved changes you have made to the object type, link type, or action type.
  • Highlighted underneath: All changes that have been made to the object type, link type, or action type with details on when the changes were made and by whom.

Restore changes made to a single object type

To restore an object type back to an older version of itself:

  1. Hover over the entry in the Edits history with the latest changes you want saved for the object type.
  2. Select Restore.
Warning

After restoring an object type to a previous version, any changes that were made after the entry you selected will be undone. The changes will be added to your working state and you will need to save your changes to the Ontology for your restore to take effect. Learn more about saving to the Ontology.
