The Foundry Ontology is a customizable “digital twin” of the entities, events, and processes that are important to an organization.
Ontology object types are backed by a Foundry dataset that is typically the target of a scheduled pipeline. Its rows represent individual objects (of that type) and its columns are translated into object properties.
Object Explorer is Foundry’s application for searching and visualizing object types and Object Views.
Data Lineage enables us to visualize the links between object types in the context of a broader data pipeline.
Ontologies can be updated once deployed, but starting out with a well-reasoned framework based on best practices listed in the Foundry documentation will reduce unnecessary complexity and accelerate value generation.
