19 - Layouts: Comparing with Charts

This content is also available at learn.palantir.com ↗ and is presented here for accessibility purposes.

As you filter to a set of objects in your exploration, you may want to compare statistics with other object sets. For example, you may want to see how the charted properties in your exploration compare to the overall industry. While we suggest you read through this documentation entry to understand the full comparison process, the following instructions will introduce you to the capability.

🔨 Task Instructions

  1. In the top left area of the Object Explorer, click the Compare ▾ button.

  2. From the list, choose All [Example Data] Aircraft.

Not all chart types and configurations are compatible with the comparison view, but note that your stats table and map now feature values from the compared object set in a distinct color. You may also need to click a blue "Remove Groupby" button to restore your first chart.

  3. Your comparison opened another tab in the Object Explorer. Return to your original exploration tab and close the comparison view tab.
