📖 Task Introduction
In Workshop, buttons are a common way to trigger Actions that require users to manually enter required parameters. You’ve created your buttons, and we now need to wire them up to your Actions and further define the interface the users will encounter.
🔨 Task Instructions
Locate and select the Assign Alert item in your Button group: Actions widget configuration panel. Change the On Click behavior from Event to Action.
In the Select an action . . . dropdown, find and select your precise Assign Flight Alert action (e.g., [jmeier] Assign Flight Alert).
In the Parameter Defaults section below, choose the [o][1] Active Flight Alert variable in the [yourName] Flight Alert field. This is the object the Action will be taken on.
Just below your entry, click the Disabled option. This will prevent users from accidentally changing the target object in the Action form.
In the Additional Options section, choose the option to Disable the button if invalid (i.e., the validations do not obtain).
Select a row in the table with a priority of high and then click on your Assign Alert button in the Actions dropdown menu. Compare your application to the image below (the image has been modified from the original so you can more easily see the configuration in the background).
