6 - Setting up your Action

📖 Task Introduction

An Action is composed of three primary components: Parameters, Rules, and Submission criteria (elsewhere known as inputs, logic, and validations). This task sets up your Action and prepares you to configure these three components.

A clickable, visual depiction of these steps is provided at the bottom of this task for convenience.

🔨 Task Instructions

  1. Open your flight alert object type in OMA to the Overview tab.

  2. Click the ⊕ Create new button at the bottom of the Action Types block on the right.

  3. Apply the following settings to to your Create a new Action Type window:

    • Action type
      • Object type: Leave your [yourName] Flight Alert
      • Object actions: Leave it to ✎ Modify
    • Mapping
      • Property:
        • Priority and map it to Priority
        • Comment and map it to Comment
    • Metadata
      • Action type name: [yourName] Update Flight Alert Priority (e.g., [jmeier] Update Flight Alert Priority)
    • Security
      • User:
        • Leave this as yourself
  4. Click the green Create button in the bottom right of the window.
