19 - Configuring Your Metrics: Flights Per State

You’ve got the object sets you need to create your metrics, and it’s now time to build them.

🔨 Task Instructions

  1. Click on your metric card widget to open its configuration panel.

  2. Apply the following settings in the panel:

    • Select Layout Style: Card
    • Direction: Vertical
    • Template: Side -by-side
    • Select Metric Size: Large
  3. Near the top of the configuration panel, click the ⊕ Add metric button so that your card has two empty metric blocks.

  4. Click into the top metric item (i.e., “Metric 1”).

  5. In the Label field, enter Flights in Selected States.

  6. Change the Value Type to Number.

  7. Click Select numeric variable . . . and then on ➕ New numeric variable. Then choose Object set aggregation.

  8. In the fly-out window, rename the variable to [n] Number of Flights in Selected State.

  9. Set the starting object set to [o] Flights in Selected State and the Aggregation Method to Count.

  10. Back in your metric configuration panel on the right, move the Numeric Formatting toggle to the “On” position and click ➕ Use grouping (then toggle that option “On”).
