With a wide array of configuration items, layers, and display options, the map is one of Workshop’s most complex widgets. You’ll be building a relatively simple multi-layer map centered around airports and flights — two object types that have geospatial attributes defined in the Ontology. Since there are Ontology linkages between your flight alert and [Example Data] Flight object types, you can tie your airport displays to various flight alert properties and filters.

🔨 Task Instructions

  1. Click into the blank section below your pie chart so that its configuration panel opens on the right. Change the name to Section: Map.

  2. Update the Row Height to Flex and set the value to 2. You'll immediately see the sections reposition.

  3. Move the Section Header toggle to the “On” position, set the Section Title to Map, and choose the Map icon from the icon selector.

  4. In the blank section, click ➕ Add widget and choose Map.

    • The item added to your layouts panel is titled Map 1 by default. Consider changing it to simply Map in the configuration panel’s Metadata tab.
