6 - Configuring Your Filter List Widget(s)

This content is also available at learn.palantir.com ↗ and is presented here for accessibility purposes.

You want to filter your COP on flight alert and airport properties, so you’ll need to configure filter lists that serve both object sets.

🔨 Task Instructions

  1. Your filter list widget configuration panel now shows your new variable, [o] Airports with Alerts as its starting object set. Use the Add filter . . . button below to add a few properties to the filter, including Airport State Name and Number of Destinations. Consider adding a keyword search filter to the top of your filter list.
  2. In the Output Data section, change the default name of the output filter variable to [f] Airport Filter.

You’ve enabled filtering on airports. Now, create a second filter list so that users can also filter on flight alert information.

  1. Click on your airports filter list section in your dashboard near the center of your screen. Then, near the top of your screen, find and click the Below button to add a section below the selected one.

  2. In your new section, add another Filter list widget and rename it in the Metadata tab to Filter list: Alerts Filter (COP), adding COP to visually distinguish it from a similarly named widget on the inbox page.

  3. Set its starting object set to the existing [o] All Flight Alerts variable.

  4. Click Add filter . . . and choose Flight Date as the filterable property.

  5. In your new filter list widget’s configuration, click into the Display tab and change the Row Height setting from Flex to Auto, which will scale the section to the height needed to display the content.

  6. In the Output Data section, back in the Widget setup tab, change the default name of the output filter variable to [f] Flight Alerts Filter (COP), adding the COP to distinguish it from the similarly named filter on your inbox page.

ℹ️ Although not critical, consider renaming the filter and object set variables in your inbox that might collide with those in your COP. For example, you might rename the [o] Filtered Flight Alerts variable to [o] Filtered Flight Alerts (Inbox) so it's easily recognizable next to [o] Filtered Flight Alerts (COP). You can re-use variables across pages, but the ones you’re creating are uniquely configured.

  7. Save and publish.
