3 - Preparing an Object Set to Create a Time Series, Part 1

This content is also available at learn.palantir.com ↗ and is presented here for accessibility purposes.

📖 Task Introduction

Given that the training resources are not providing data already modelled as times series in the Ontology, in this tutorial you will learn how to first create time series from Object Sets to then use Quiver's time series transformations.

If you already have Data modelled as time series in your Ontology, feel free to test Quiver’s time series transformations on those directly by importing then through the search bar under the Time Series dropdown.

In the next 3 tasks, you will create a Filtered Object Set for Wind Speed sensors, then a line chart and a time series plot.

🔨 Task Instructions

  1. Near the top of your screen, in the omnibar, click on Objects to open the menu to add an object set to your analysis.
  2. In the Objects dropdown menu, click on Add object set.
  3. In the window that opens, enter [Example Data] Flight Sensor Readings as the search term and click the result when it returns to add the object type with that name to your analysis.
  4. Close the object set selector window by clicking on the X near the top-right corner.
  5. Click the Objects option at the bottom of the card and select **Filter Object set**.
  6. In the new filter board, click on Add a filter to limit your resulting object set.
  7. In the filter subwindow, select ...where sensor type is to add a filter based on the sensor type of the flight sensor readings.
  8. Click into the Search... field to the right of Sensor Type is and select Wind Speed from the dropdown menu.
