22 - Open your Dashboard

📖 Task Introduction

In this task, we will further customize the dashboard by adding text and renaming our parameter display names. You can also reorder boards within a dashboard by hovering over a board and using the drag handle on the top-left corner, or you can remove boards from the dashboard by hovering over the board and using the Settings gear icon in its top-right corner.

🔨 Task Instructions

1. Use the Dashboard button at the top of the analysis to open the dashboard view of your Contour analysis.

2. Underneath the title Flight Delay Dashboard, hover your mouse, then click on the blue + button to add a text widget. In this text widget, we'll describe the purpose of the dashboard and use the inline parameter functionality. Type: This dashboard shows the routes from the selected route origin to the selected route destination.
3. Next, place your cursor to the right of the word origin within your text widget in the description you just added and type $ to pull up the inline parameter value. Click origin in the dropdown to select that parameter.
4. Then, place your cursor after the word destination and type $ to pull up the inline parameter value. Click dest in the dropdown.

ℹ️ These inline parameter values will always show the current value of the parameters. Because the parameters are currently empty, they say No value. You can also use inline parameters in board titles and the dashboard title.
