10 - Create a New Path with an Existing Analysis

📖 Task Introduction

Now that we have an enriched set of data containing the additional information on the delays for the flights, it’s a best practice to Add a new Path to the Contour analysis so the enrichment work we did in our first path doesn’t need to be repeated. This regular exercise will make your Contour analyses more efficient.

🔨 Task Instructions

  1. At the top of your analysis, notice that you currently have one path called flights. Click on the ➕ New Path button to the right.

  2. Rather than use an existing dataset in Foundry as the input dataset for this new path, we’re actually going to use the output dataset from our initial flights path. Click on the Paths in this analysis option in the dropdown window under the + button, then, select the Result of flights option.

ℹ️ In Contour, it’s a best practice to perform filtering and data enrichment only once in the first path so that it need not be repeated in successive work across other paths.

  3. Double click the name on the new Contour path, and rename flights (resulting set) to Delayed Route Analysis.
