You'll begin your analysis by opening a dataset in Contour. Every time you create a new analysis, it is automatically saved with the title New Analysis (Date and Time of Creation) in a folder in your personal files called .auto_save.
It's a good habit to name your analyses and save them to an appropriate location (e.g., a project folder for analyses that should be shared with users who have access to that project).
Note: There are a few different ways to open a dataset in Contour. For example, besides the steps below, you can click directly on the dataset and select Analyze or Actions and then Analyze in Contour.
**Foundry Training and Resources**
Project and then click directly on the folder named **Example Data**
**Aviation Ontology**
folder.**flights**

). Use the title {FIRSTNAME LASTNAME} US Flight Data Analysis
, where {FIRSTNAME LASTNAME}
is your full name to help locate your file later.Note: Depending on your environment, you may be prompted with a sub window asking you to choose a folder to save your new analysis into; if you are, save your analysis in your /Tutorial Practice Artifacts/
folder or preferred save location.
If you haven't created one before, follow the steps from the Create a Sandbox Folder page in the Introduction to Palantir Foundry tutorial to create it now.
