Communications Designer

Palo Alto, CA

Palantir is looking for a top-notch Communications Designer to join our team. Our design needs include visual products for business & marketing collateral, presentations, and promotional items, across both print and online/interactive mediums. Ideal candidates have a startup mentality, are detail-oriented, and have a discerning eye for color, typography, and layout.

Responsibilities

• Design digital and print marketing and promotional collateral such as flyers, posters, brochures, and other marketing/advertising material as required
• Create presentation charts, graphs, and diagrams
• Design Power Point templates
• Design concepts and templates for internal and external websites
• Create HTML and CSS for design implementation
• Work with other Palantir functional units to foster unified branding & consistent design
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 3 + years of professional experience as a designer with a portfolio that includes print and interactive work as well as informational graphics and presentation layouts
• Understanding of interactive/web medium design limitations
• Detail-oriented, hands-on, and self-motivated
• Good typography and text layout skills
• Proven understanding of printing process and technology
• Marketing skills a plus
• Web skill a plus
• Background in some form of traditional art
• Experience managing print vendors including job sourcing and pricing
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver) and Microsoft Office is required
• Experience building standards based HTML/CSS pages. Javascript, Flash, and Ajax experience a plus
• Exhibits stylistic breadth, attention to detail, and balances beauty, innovation and usability
